Football is the greatest sport in the world

School theme Write something about football: Football is the greatest sport in the world. That's it. Nothing else. And what about billionaires players? the match-fixing? doping? the recommendations? males who leave their wives at home to go to the stadium? It is, of course, there is all of this, but if you ask a child what is the best sport in the world he would probabily answer you: the most beautiful sport in the world for me is football. Because if you go in the remote corners of the Earth you will never find a basket ball. A coconut can not bounce, but it can squeeze between two stones used as piles. The feet after a while become strong enough to endure the pain of when you beat a penalty kick with all the power you have in your legs and you're barefoot. This week I will talk about football with my pictures, led by the wonders of Leicester, ranked first in the Premier League. The Leicester looks like a modern fairy tale with a moral and a plot so beautiful that it can be read to children in the evening before bedtime. Dad, please tell me a story? There was once a man who always lost and a guy who worked as a metalworker at the factories of Sheffield, they won together against the richest and most powerful teams in the world and they made everybody dream.

Great story Dad! In India, during the World Cup in South Africa in 2010, the children spent the night on the streets singing and dancing the Waka Waka, you could hear this song everywhere, even in the barber when you went there and it tooks two hours to cut, between glasses of Chà and gossip; in Guinea-Bissau, Cristiano Ronaldo's myth is so strong that schools are using as a school uniform the shirt of the Portuguese champion; in Iran everyone remembers, with emotion in them hearts, the historic victory match against United States, in a 1998 summer evening, during the World Cup in France. Wherever football makes you dream and the amazing stories, like those of Leicester, Stanley Matthews, the great Turin and the game played in the 1914 Christmas night between German soldiers and French, have to be told, because besides the rot there is "football", which one is being played in the streets of Africa, oratories of the small Italian towns and factories of Sheffield. In those dirty fields, among deflated balloons and coconuts, football reaches the apex of its meaning, which I hope to donate to you with this small series of pictures.
