The little girl depicted in this picture is called Nimma. A serious malformation of the limbs causes her to always walk in this way. Nimma, according to the Balanta's ethnicity law, was destined to die because the bearer of demons, but the mother was able to tear off bringing her in Bula, a village of Guinea-Bissau, under the protection of Sr. Romana and Sr. Esperia.
